Timberley Jones is a marketing and community outreach specialist who helps bicycle-related brands grow their businesses through digital media and grassroots campaigns. She shares her unique voice both online, through her strong social media presence, and as a sought-after speaker at events like the recent 2017 North American Bikeshare Association, where she discussed the intersection between bike share and social equity.
Timberley is on a mission to share the joy of a simple bike ride with a diverse community, and is especially passionate about helping marginalized individuals discover the freedom biking brings.
Since stepping into her role as the Marketing and Community Outreach Manager for the Atlanta-based bike share program Relay Bikes, she’s helped grow the program by 400% in just 10 months. Due to the program’s success, she and the Relay team are now preparing for the next wave of expansion, which will come from the recent transportation tax that passed in Atlanta (TSPLOST) that allots some of its budget to Relay Bikes.
Timberley has been featured in interviews about Relay by outlets like The Atlantic Business Chronicle, WABE News, and Georgia Tech’s newspaper Technique; and Relay Bikes is regularly seen in the media by sources including CBS46, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta In Town, Central Atlanta Progress, Atlanta Insurance, the MARTA Guide website, 11 Alive (WXIA TV), and many others.
In her role as Program Supervisor, Timberley oversaw the successful launch of the Westside Bike Share Champion program, which recruits and trains community outreach representatives to educate their Westside Atlanta communities about bikeshare. The Bike Share Champions program is a partnership with the City of Atlanta; Atlanta Bicycle Coalition; WeCycle; Urban Perform; Red, Bike & Green Atlanta; and Relay Bike Share.
Today Timberley manages the Westside Bike Share Champion social media presence and events planning. The program has been featured in numerous media outlets, among them The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Atlanta Patch, Curbed Atlanta, WABE News, Planwestside.org, the Better Bike Share site, Atlanta In Town, and in Timerley’s own piece on the Relay Bikes blog.
Timberley is also the CEO of Spokes Digital Media, which offers marketing and community outreach services to brands within the bicycle industry looking to grow their presence and profits; brands like the new AC Clutch Bike Shop, which is opening its second location in Atlanta. Spokes Digital Media always welcomes prospective new clients; please send any inquiries to Timberley@spokesdigitalmedia.com.
And because her constant cycling gives her superhuman energy, Timberley is also: a member of the Pedal Love Council of female leaders in the bicycle digital media space; a Po Campo Brand Ambassador; and a recent interviewee on the Bike Nerds Podcast.
